书面表达是普通高校全国统一招生考试英语试卷中的压轴题,它的档次高低直接影响考生英语成绩的高低。此题旨在测试考生的英语表达能力,看其是否能够运用学过的英语知识和掌握的技能进行思想交流。这对中学英语情景教学、写作教学也是一个有力的推动。现以2006届全国大联考高三第二次试题为例,谈谈自己的教学思路。
一、试题原题
一个星期日,小明和几个小朋友踢足球后回家吃午饭。下列四幅图描绘的是他在回家的途中所发生的事。请你用英语写一篇短文描述事情的经过。
注意:1、词数100左右(文章开头已给出,不计入总词数)。
2、参考词汇:suck milk from…;bleat v.(羊)咩咩叫。

二、写作思路
第一步:审视画片;第二步:把握要点;第三步:扩充细节;第四步:连接成文;第五步:检查全篇。
三、具体过程
1、审视画片。看图作文成败关键在审图。审图过程中要领会画片,弄清每幅图大意。这组画片的大意是:小明看见麦田地里有两只羊,母羊正在吃地里的麦苗,而小羊正在吸羊奶,小明想把羊赶出麦田,他所做的一切都无济于事。突然在他脑海里想出了一个办法,于是他就抱着小羊往外跑,母羊也跟上来了。小明的办法起了作用。
2、把握要点。弄懂画片大意之后,必须把握每幅图的要点,用最简单的语句写出每幅图的主题句。
(1)He found a mother sheep eating wheat in the field.
(2)What he did was just in vain.
(3)He had a good idea.
(4)He picked up the baby sheep and went away.
3、扩充细节。分别对概括要点的简单句进行扩写,补充每幅图的细节内容,如:时间、地点、方式、原因、结果及心理活动等。
(1)On the way home, he found a mother sheep eating wheat in the field. Her baby was sucking milk from the mother sheep.
(2)He was worried. He went up to the mother sheep in a hurry. He tried to pull it away. What he did was just in vain.
(3)He thought about what to do. He saw the mother sheep kissing her baby. He had a good idea.
(4)He went over.He Picked up the baby sheep and went away. The baby sheep bleated. The mother sheep jumped out of the wheat field and followed Xiaoming out of the field. Xiaoming was very happy at his idea which worked.
4、连接成文。在扩充细节的基础上,必须按情节发展的先后,运用恰当的连接词或过渡词。连接词作为语篇的逻辑纽带起着承上启下的桥梁作用,使句子段落和篇章保持逻辑上的关联和语义上的连贯。新的书面表达评分标准鼓励学生写作时使用一些较高级的词汇和语法结构。过去那种写作时尽量用简单词、简单句,拿保险分的做法已不被认可,高考英语试卷设计人员希望考生勇于表达,尽可能地发挥出自己的真实水平。
One possible vesion :
One Sunday, Xiaoming went home for lunch after he played football with some children. On the way home, he found a mother sheep eating wheat in the field, with her baby sucking milk from the other sheep.
He was so worried that he went up to the sheep in a hurry, trying to pull it away. However, what he did was just in vain. He was thinking hard about what to do when he saw the mother sheep kissing her baby and thus hit upon a good idea. He went over, picked up the baby sheep and went away with it bleating in his arms. Immediately, the mother sheep jumped out of the wheat field and followed Xiaoming out of the field. Xiaoming was very happy at his idea which worked.
5、检查全篇。一篇初步完成的语篇还要经过检查和修改,才能最后定稿。检查的范围主要有:(1)体裁格式是否正确;(2)内容要点有否疏漏;(3)语言是否规范、准确,其中时态是否一致,主动被动是否混淆;(4)句子成分是否残缺(特别是动词);(5)句与句、段与段的过渡是否自然得体;(6)单词拼写、大小写、标点符号是否正确。
总之,运用“五步曲”练习看图作文,真正做到审图抓要点,扩充连成文,定篇细查看,还应重视语言基本功的培养,从遣词造句到活用句型扎扎实实地做起,从简单句的表达到较为复杂句式的使用循序渐进地提高,从起始年级到毕业年级要持之以恒、常抓不懈,经过大量的写作实践,就一定会在高考中应付自如、落笔成文。
