Objective To investigate the status of fungal infection in patients with hematological malignancies and to analyze its harmful factors and preventive measures. Methods The clinical data and fungal culture results of 76 patients with hematologic malignancies complicated with fungal infection confirmed by microbiological examination from January 2004 to December 2009 were statistically analyzed. Results Most of the fungal infections were respiratory tract (88.16%) and gastrointestinal tract (7.89%). Candida albicans was the most common, accounting for 60.53%. Conclusion The fungal infections in this group are closely related to risk factors such as primary underlying diseases, repeated chemotherapy, neutropenia, aging, application of broad-spectrum antibiotics and immunosuppressive agents.
