横列式車辆段在美国被当作高生产效率的方案采用,但在苏联則認为不符合流水作业发展的要求而未被重視。我以往在工作中对纵列式車辆段已积存有一些疑問,61年下放成都車輛段劳动鍛练,在此期間通过对生产的体驗观察,逐渐形成了設計横列式方案的意图。我感到设有迁車台的橫列式货車段不仅可以流水作业且能适应各种修車作业的要求,较之纵列式具有生产效率高、佔地面积小、基建投资低和便于設計布置等优点。限于自己見識薄狭,分析难免謬誤,特提出来请大家指正。

It has higher productivity, smaller floor space, lower investment in infrastructure and easier design than the tandem type. Etc.
