小学低段学生由于年龄特点,导致他们的思维方式主要是以直观形象思维为主,逻辑思维相对较弱,因此,在小学数学课堂上,教师如果提高学生动手能力,那么则可以极大地加深学生对相关知识的理解,从而激发学生学习数学的积极性。但是任何事情都是有度的,如果过多让学生在课堂上动手,那么由于这个年龄段的孩子自制能力差且注意力不容易集中,非常容易造成课堂混乱,心思收不回来的现象。因此,在课堂上,如何合理地使学生动手操作,既不影响课堂秩序,又能提高上课效率,这是值得教师探讨的。
