先秦儒道思想秉承内圣外王道术,其理想人格也以“圣人”之名统称,两者均首重内圣,而外王则其必然推演,即所谓德合天地、道济天下。先秦儒道思想中的理想人格——德合天地、道济天下的圣人,实质上是一个至德之人,其特质为公、诚、明、善、虚、灵、应、化。这种合德完人的追求是儒道两家对理想人格的祈向,主要是针对人君或领袖人物品德修养而阐发的。
