Fahrenheit 451 envisions a new type of utopian society that is described as the city of burning books, the city of cars and the city of the like. The people living in them have no idea what nature is and are indulged in the material enjoyment and symbolic consumption all the time, and the spiritual world is barren. Under the guidance of Clarice, Montag, the hero of the novel, feels the power and beauty of nature. Through the book, Ray Bradbury warned the world of humankind that no depth of Western consumer culture could bring about urban alienation, and warned humans to be humble and in awe of nature.
