This paper mainly focuses on Rousseau’s “On the origin of language - And on the melody and the imitation of music” as the research object, pointing out the author’s point of view on the language problem: the language from the passion rather than the need, and in the eyes and ears, To the word in the process of deviation from the natural state of mankind increasingly alienated in addition. On the one hand, this unique linguistic view fits Rousseau’s philosophical point of view and becomes an integral part of his ideological system. On the other hand, there is some rationality and open question at the linguistic level. Introducing and evaluating Rousseau’s linguistic view is conducive to fully understanding Rousseau’s philosophical thinking and evaluating correctly the role of Rousseau and his ideas in the development of human civilization.
