In the early seventies of last century, German literary circles faded from politics and returned to discover the “new subjectivity” style of being true and self-referential. In the meantime, contemporary Austrian writer Peter Handke (1940-) published a series of travel novels to make his perception real, his self and the world’s “new subjectivity” through the setting of travel themes and the spread of travel stories. The principle can be demonstrated. This article separately introduces the “neo-subjectivity” style and three major Hankt’s travel novels, so that the writer who has drawn much attention to the German literary world has a deeper understanding of literary practices and concepts since the 1970s Understanding.
