“Going to the Lighthouse” is one of Wolfe’s most outstanding works. It exposes the gender bias under the patriarchal dictatorship, conveys the author’s feminist thinking, and criticizes the cultural system based on male-centered theory. This essay will use ecocriticism and archetypal criticism to interpret the archetypal images of Madame Ramsay and the painter Lily and discuss the reconstruction of female identity and femininity. By analyzing the feminine features of the protagonist and comparing the protagonist goddesses with their similar temperaments, this article explores the social identity of women from the root of worship of goddess, and calls for mankind to cherish nature and return to the embrace of the goddess of nature.
