Globalization is turning higher-level occupations such as basic research, chip design, engineering, and financial analysis to overseas. The facts tell people: a new round of global wave of job transfer is impacting each country. The first wave began 20 years ago with the flow of jobs in footwear manufacturing, cheap electronics and toys to developing countries. Simple service tasks (such as processing credit card receipts) and the computer-boring nuisances (such as writing software source code) began to move away from high-cost countries. Forrest Research analyst John McCarthy predicts that at least 3.3 million white-collar jobs and $ 136 billion in wages will be shifted to low-cost countries by 2015. This trend has also emerged in Europe, where French companies are using call centers in Mauritius. German multinationals such as Siemens or ball bearing manufacturer INA-Schaef-fer are hiring employees in Russia, the countries around the Baltic Sea and Eastern European countries.
