严爽(1896～1962),字潆波,江苏泰兴人,1919年毕业于北京大学矿冶系,曾赴美国攻读石油工程。他是我国早期的石油专家,近代石油工业的拓荒者之一。早年,严爽任吉林穆棱煤矿采煤和探煤技师。“九一八”事变后,东北沦陷,他返回内地。1934年5月,严爽任隗北油矿探勘处技术员兼延长区主任。7月,处长孙越崎去焦作整顿煤矿,严爽代理处长职,继续组织钻探,先后钻井7口,有4口产油,证实了永坪油田具
Yan Shuang (1896 ~ 1962), the word 潆 wave, Taixing, Jiangsu Province, graduated from Peking University Department of Mining and Metallurgy in 1919, went to the United States to study petroleum engineering.
