Good morning. Ladies and gentlemen. It’s my great honor to be here with you on this sunny morning, but I still feel a little nervous.I don’t know what result I will achieve today. However I will try my best for this chance is very precious.
First of all, let me say something about myself. My name is No 11.I come from a Junior Middle School in the countryside.
Now my class begins.
Today I will talk about something on how I understand,prepare, think about, organize and teach: Section B 2a-2c Unit 8 When is your birthday ?Book I Grade Seven.
My English class consists of 8 parts.
Part 1 Analysis of Teaching Material.
The main content in this class is a reading text about the school notice in which several interesting activities are included. The text aims at developing students’ reading skills and article telling ability.
Part 2 Students Analysis.
On the one hand, students in Grade Seven are active in class They enjoy taking part in all kinds of class activities. This text describes interesting activities organized in the school. It’s easy for students to retell the main idea of the text in spoken English at the end of the class.
Part 3 Teaching Method.
In this class I will use a task-based teaching method. Several questions will be designed based on the contents of 2b, Section B. These questions should be written on the blackboard before class so that they can help my students understand the text further.
Besides this, I can divide my class into eight groups. In each group are four to five students who are required to discuss and answer questions designed and written on the blackboard.
Part 4 Teaching Aims.
In this part there are three teaching aims: knowledge aim, ability aim and emotion aim.
(1) Knowledge aim. My students will be asked to master new words, useful expressions and key points on page 47.
(2)Ability aim
My students are required to answer the questions on the blackboard by finding out useful information in the text. I will try to create the chance for my students to speak English in class.
(3)Emotion aim
My students are trained to help each other and co-operate with each other by participating actively in class activities.
Through these activities some of my students can recite the text and most students can retell the contents of the text.
Part 5 Teaching Emphasis
Five questions are designed according to the text. (1)On September21st,what activity will there be in our school?
(2)Why is October a great month in our school?
(3)Do you like art? Do you like English? Say important activities that will be held in our school in November
(4)Do you like books? In December there is an activity concerning books. What is it?
(5)What do you think of this term?
When the five questions are finished, the text can be easily understood by my students
Part 6 Teaching Difficulties.
(1)How to use the word“on”?
(2)Tell my students the differences between the usages of the
Words “on” and“in”.
(3)Tell my students to retell the text based on the five questions.
Part 7 Teaching Procedures.
On this part, there are 7 steps.
Step 1 Review new words on page 47.
Step 2 Lead——in.
Hello ,everyone. I have some news to tell you. This term in our school there will be some activities organized in September, October,November and December.

Do you like participating in these activities? Yes, we do.
Do you want to know them? Yes, we do.
Now turn to page 47.

Step 4 Learn 2b
First I teach my students to read the article once. Then tell my students to read the article again and at the same time answer the five questions on the blackboard
Step 5 Check the answers.
Step 6 Retell the text.
All my students are asked to retell the text in spoken English
According to the questions, they should finish the task within 5 minutes.
Step 7 Have free discussions with partners and finish 2c.
Part 8 Homework.
1. Copy the new words twice in this lesson.
2. Recite the article.
3. Do some exercises in exercise book.
