大学英语教学中往往重视学生口语交际能力的培养和提高,而口头陈述活动是英语课堂上许多教师采取的一种活动形式。针对该活动在具体实施过程中存在的问题,本文提出将元认知理论应用到大学英语口头陈述活动中。教师在指导学生进行口头陈述活动时,可充分运用元认知策略,使学生深刻意识到该活动的意义与作用,提高他们在完成活动中的自我监控与调节的能力。重视引导学生培养口头陈述活动的元认知意识,有利于充分发挥该活动的作用,达到调动学生主动学习的积极性,培养学生的思辨能力,提高英语语言表达能力的目的。
College English teaching often emphasizes the cultivation and improvement of students’ oral communicative competence, and oral presentations are a form of activity taken by many teachers in the English classroom. In view of the problems in the implementation of this activity, this paper proposes to apply metacognitive theory to the oral English activities in college English. Teachers can make full use of metacognitive strategies when instructing students to make oral presentations so as to enable students to become deeply aware of the significance and role of the activities and enhance their ability to monitor and regulate their activities in completing their activities. Emphasis on guiding students to develop awareness of metacognitive awareness of oral presentation activities is conducive to giving full play to the role of the initiative to mobilize the enthusiasm of students to actively study and cultivate students’ ability to think and improve their English language skills.
