The caudate nucleus is one of the major components of the extrapyramidal system involved in the regulation of body movement. Recent experiments have confirmed that the stimulation of the caudate nucleus can increase the pain threshold and achieve the analgesic effect. Clinical observations also show that stimulating the caudate nucleus can relieve the pain of patients with advanced cancer. Therefore, the physiological functions of the caudate nucleus and analgesic principles of increasing research. In animal experiments, rats are more frequently used experimental subjects. From the aspect of tissue morphology, the author made a preliminary observation and comparison of the head of the rat and the caudate nucleus to find out the similarities and differences and create conditions for further exploration of the correlation and relationship between the morphology and function of the caudate nucleus.
