由于水平井能够增大油藏的泄油面积而提高单井采收率,故其适合于开采鄂尔多斯盆地姬塬地区长8油层组裂缝发育的特低孔特低渗致密型油藏。而地质导向的成功与否是决定水平井钻探成功的关键。研究区长8油层组属于三角洲前缘亚相沉积,砂体稳定存在,且砂顶构造平缓,在现有井网的条件下,在做水平井钻井地质设计时可以准确预测油层顶界深度。长7期研究区属于浅湖相沉积,K2标志层的凝灰质泥岩稳定存在且距油顶距离相对稳定,可以在造斜段卡准K2后精确预测油层顶界。LWD所带的随钻自然伽玛曲线可以随钻识别岩性,快速色谱录井可以随钻识别油层,钻时曲线反映地层的可钻性,三者集合可以卡准油层的顶、底界和判断水平段是否在油层中穿行。
