Leading in
Use a traditional Chinese folk song to lead in.
What festival is the folk song about?
The spring festival. As we know, it is the most important festival in China.
Do you know any other traditional festivals?
Today ,we want to learn three of them.
First, let’s look at the pictures.
Present the pictures. Then give them three minutes to go through the passage to get the general idea of the paasage. After that, ask them to answer the questions raised by themselves quickly.

Because it is a special occasion for family.
2.When did the tradition of the Dragon Boat Festival
start?(G2,6)
The tradition of the dragon boat festival started more than 2000 years ago.
3.What special food is eaten on the Lantern Festival?

Ask the students to read the passage carefully ,try to find the answers to the questions and have s discussion about the main points and difficult points .Then ask ss to present the answers on the blackboard.(表格略)
