This paper argues that “he did so in P” is opposite to P in “He is P”, not only because the semantic features of P in the previous sentence are the same thing, but the semantic features of P in the latter sentence Is the person. Our analysis and argument begins with the case where P is a single word and further extends to the case where P is an idiom. The conclusion is: the former sentence is the evaluation sentence, the latter sentence is the qualitative sentence. The difference between the two sentence expressions indicates that P in the previous sentence can only be an adjective idiom with the semantic feature of [+ evaluation; P in a sentence is either a verbal idiom with the semantic feature of [-disabled action] or an adjective idiom with the semantic features of [+ line].
