The East German state-owned Görlitz Vehicle Factory made further improvements to the international intercourse sleeper. Building on previous experience gained in the design and manufacture of vehicles, five new sleeper samples have been manufactured by the end of 1977. Good results were obtained in the initial winter run test. The design work absorbed the experience of forced ventilation sleeves made for the Soviet railway, and also paid attention to the reliability of the application. As with previous designs, the car is suitable for both 1,435mm and 1,524mm gauge tracks and operates at ambient temperatures from + 50 to -50 ° C, in line with UIC (International Union of Railways) and RIC (International Passenger baggage car interoperability agreement) and all the requirements of transit transport, as well as in the 1,524 mm line.
