According to “N Engl J Med” Volume 342, Issue 21, 2000 Although extensive CPR trials were conducted among residents of Seattle, outsiders did not experience CPR for nearly half of patients who demonstrated cardiac arrest. Using the telephone emergency chest compression plus mouth-to-mouth ventilation guidance only takes 2.4 minutes. In a pilot study, the correlation between chest compression alone and survival was similar to chest compression plus mouth-to-mouth ventilation.
