A welfare package that includes spouses and other family members is very important for attracting and retaining the best staff. However, the lack of clear policy provisions, the agreement on dual-family employment, divorce and other difficult matters could result in additional economic losses for the company and, as a result, the employees’ relationship with the company. Matthew McDermott, employee benefits consultant for insurance and welfare consulting firm in Rochester, New York, issued the above warning.
