In the past 30 years, the secret of the success of most large company managers in South Korea was merely obeying orders. Apart from the most senior policy makers, only a few have the power to develop global strategies or decide on overseas markets. The current economic recession has driven South Korea’s big groups to seek development overseas. These large group companies are keen to hire more foreigners as managers and dismiss incompetent local staff. The large group of foreigners employed by large companies in Korea is composed of low-wage blue-collar workers from Southeast Asian countries, but foreigners now working in white-collar jobs
