由一个非营利组织为有视力障碍的人设立的韩国第一个网上图书馆于8月21日开放。此前,韩国数字鸿沟委员会宣布将这一电子图书馆命名为“开放数字” (网址为www.opendigital.or.kr),它共有1万多种图书和200种多媒体资料。盲人通过一个声音识别软件,可以听到显示屏上的单词。此外,图书馆为听力有障碍的人准备了带字幕的影片。这一图书馆的建立旨在缩小残疾人之间的信息鸿沟。
The first online library in Korea, set up by a non-profit organization for visually-impaired people, opened on August 21. Earlier, the Korean Digital Divide Commission announced the electronic library named “Open Digital” (www.opendigital.or.kr), which has more than 10,000 kinds of books and 200 kinds of multimedia information. The blind can hear the words on the screen through a voice recognition software. In addition, the library prepared subtitles for people with hearing disabilities. This library was created to reduce the information gap between people with disabilities.
