内蒙古自治区(以下简称自治区)自1951年开始在西部地区土默川试种甜菜之后,1955年在土默川(呼和浩特市郊区、包头市郊区、土默特左旗、土默特右旗)及西部区东三旗县(卓资县、丰镇县、察右前旗)大面积种植甜菜。1959年甜菜发展到西部区河套黄河灌区种植。1966年甜菜相继发展到通辽、赤峰、宁城、扎兰屯等地。自1955年迄今二十九年,甜菜栽培面积由十二万五千亩发展到现在的一百万亩。进入七十年代,甜菜糖分明显降低。就全自治区看:1955—1960年平均含糖分18.93%;1961—1970年平均含糖18.62%; 1971—1980年平均含糖16.72%,全自治区甜菜含糖分平均降低了2.215度。老甜菜区土默川的糖分下降幅度更大,以土默川东半部为例,五十年代菜丝含糖18%以上;六十年代为16.73%;七十年代为15.43%,糖分下降2.5度以上。
Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region (TAR) has been experimenting with sugar beets in Tumochuan in the western region since 1951, and in 1955 in the areas of Tumochuan (the suburbs of Hohhot, the suburbs of Baotou, Tumotezuoqi and Tumote Youqi) and Western District Dongsanqi County (Zhuozi County, Fengzhen County, Chazhouqianqi) large-scale cultivation of sugar beet. In 1959, beet was cultivated in the Yellow River irrigation area in Hetao of Western Region. Beet has been developed in 1966 to Tongliao, Chifeng, Ningcheng, Zhalantun and other places. Twenty-nine years from 1955 to the present, the area for beet cultivation has grown from 125,000 acres to the present one million mu. Into the seventies, sugar beet significantly lower. From the perspective of the autonomous regions, the average sugar content of 1955-60 was 18.93%, the average sugar content of 18.62% in 1961-1970, the average sugar content of 16.72% in 1971-1980, and the average sugar content of beet in the whole autonomous region decreased by 2.215 degrees. The sugar content of the old beet region Tumochuan decreased more. For example, in the eastern part of Tumocho, the sugar content in the fifties was more than 18%; in the 1960s it was 16.73%; in the 1970s it was 15.43% 2.5 degrees above.
