受英语等级考试的影响,研究生英语写作向来追求字数多与句子长。这样应试的英语写作大大降低研究生科技英语论文的可读性。与其它论文强调语法、词汇量不同,本文从语言认知出发,举例说明当前研究生英语写作存在的问题。提出增加句子的可读性需要遵守的原则:作者考虑读者的理解;尽量使用简洁的短句;句子中的谓语一定是主语发出的关键动词;将重要的信息放在句子的末尾;主谓尽可能靠近;尽可能使用短句;尽可能使用主动语态。当上述原则之间发生冲突时,优先考虑上下文的连贯性。
Affected by the English proficiency test, graduate English writing has always been the pursuit of words and sentence length. Such written exams in English greatly reduce the readability of graduate English papers. Different from other essays, which emphasize grammar and vocabulary, this essay starts from the cognition of language and illustrates the existing problems of current graduate English writing. Proposed to increase the readability of the sentence to be abided by the principle of: the author consider the reader’s understanding; try to use concise phrases; sentence predicate must be the subject of the key verbs; the important information at the end of the sentence; Proximity; use short sentences whenever possible; use proactive voice whenever possible. When conflicts arise between the above principles, priority is given to context coherence.
