在当代艺术中,框架扮演着一个富于争议性的角色。一类框架以物理形式呈现,如架上画的外框;而另外一些则是无形的,如观念艺术或体制批评。然而无论可见与否,框架都将艺术品带入了存在之域。以当代艺术为例,跨国艺术市场的出现以及无处不在的国际艺术节早已超越了地理位置的限制,把艺术推向了世界舞台。反过来,艺术也在对这种时代风潮做出回应:跨文化主义成为其表达的重要主题;促进本土文化与跨国文化互动;从跨美学和政治边界的文化事件及形式中寻求灵感;同时也制造出那些似是而非的艺术品,因为它们被放置在世界的任何地方似乎都显得非常贴切。
In contemporary art, the framework plays a controversial role. A type of framework is presented in physical form, such as a framed frame; while others are intangible, such as conceptual art or institutional criticism. However, regardless of whether it is visible or not, the framework brings artwork into the realm of existence. Taking contemporary art as an example, the emergence of a multinational art market and the ubiquitous International Arts Festival have long gone beyond the limits of geographical location and pushed art to the world stage. In turn, art is also responding to this wave of times: interculturalism has become an important theme of its expression; it promotes the interaction of indigenous and transnational cultures; it has sought inspiration from cultural events and forms that cross the boundaries of aesthetics and politics; To create those paradoxical works of art, because they are placed anywhere in the world seems to be very appropriate.
