《听潮》中“大海上一片静寂。在我们的脚下,波浪轻轻吻着岩石,象朦胧欲睡似的”,句中的“朦胧”一词系“矇眬”的误用。“朦胧”本义为“月光不明”,引申为“不清楚、模糊”意,而文中却用来写波浪欲睡之状不妥,如要表现欲睡之时,两眼半开半看东西模糊的情态,则应用“矇眬”。查《听潮的故事》的原文,则是这样的:“大海上一片静寂。在我们的脚下,波浪轻轻地吻看岩石,睡眠了似的。”(见上海文艺出版社一九八四年版《鲁彦散文 In “Listen to Tide”, “the sea is silent. At our feet, the waves gently kiss the rock, like sleepy,” and the word “朦胧” in the sentence is the misuse of “眬”. The original meaning of “朦胧” is “moonlight is unknown” and it is extended to “unclear and obscure” meaning. However, it is not appropriate to write a wavy sleepiness. For example, if you want to express sleepiness, the eyes are half open and half blurred. The modality is then applied to “monkey.” The original text of “Listen to Tide” is like this: “The sea is silent.
