DNA裂解因子(DNA fragmentation factor,DFF)也叫CAD(caspase-activated DNase),是细胞凋亡执行和调控过程中起重要作用的蛋白质之一。DFF是由40 kDa和45 kDa两个蛋白亚基组成,分别被称为DFF40/CAD和DFF45/ICAD(inhibitor of caspase-activated Dnase),DFF45是caspases-3的底物,当凋亡信号激活caspases-3,后者识别切割位点并对复合物进行切割时,可以导致DFF45与DFF40之间的作用区域的破坏,继而使DFF40从复合物中快速游离出来而活化,被释放的DFF40形成催化性的活化的同型低聚物,降解染色体DNA。
