Australian writer Patrick White’s novel “Voss” was once a hot topic in Western critics. By analyzing the character of Worth, this article focuses on the religious feelings embodied by White in his novels, and points out that Worth is not a “superhuman” of Nietzsche but a “human being” in which both good and evil live in harmony. By describing Voss’s journey from arrogance to benevolence, White tries to re-establish a productive value system with God as the fulcrum to provide modern people with a religious transcendence Orientation, and lead to rational reflection on humanism.
