By analyzing the character of Worth, this article focuses on the religious feelings embodied by White in his novels, and points out that Worth is not a “superhuman” of Nietzsche but a “human being” in which both good and evil live in harmony. By describing Voss’s journey from arrogance to benevolence, White tries to re-establish a productive value system with God as the fulcrum to provide modern people with a religious transcendence Orientation, and lead to rational reflection on humanism.
