The English name for cross-cultural communication is “cross-cultural communication (or inter-cultural communication)”. It refers to the communication between the users of this national language and the users of other national languages. It can also be interpreted as any exchange activities between people with different linguistic and cultural backgrounds. In general terms, intercultural communication refers to dealing with foreigners, and there are some basic differences between the two sides, even if such differences are not reflected in the language (for example, cultural differences between Britain and the United States). From the professional point of view of Chinese, the concept of intercultural communication can be defined as that communicators of different linguistic and cultural backgrounds use the same language to communicate situations. The significance of cultivating students’ awareness of intercultural communication through English teaching in secondary specialized schools lies in improving their learning outcomes and meeting the needs of students in employment. The difficulties in cultivating intercultural communicative awareness in English teaching in secondary schools include the weak foundation of students’ learning, the backward educational concepts of teachers and the lack of linguistic environment. The ways to cultivate the awareness of intercultural communication in secondary school English teaching include changing the roles of teachers and students, focusing on classroom teaching and using modern equipment.
