Alis Chalmers invented a new process that reduced the current huge cost of crushing energy and innovated the mill design, the most significant development of the crushing process in more than half a century. Some experts believe that in order to reduce the cost of crushing energy, should be more fragmented, less grinding, because crushing more efficient use of energy than grinding. Usually grinding a similar product requires only 10-50% of the energy used to grind, and only 5-10% of the rod and ball mill wear during the same range of crushing. Energy and metal wear are two of the biggest costs of mineral production.
