After the founding of New China, the transformation of the Shanghai edition “Ta Kung Pao” from the private newspapers into the organs of the Central Ministry of Finance and Trade did not take place overnight. Among them, “party members and staff members” played a key role. Ta Kung Pao conscientiously conducted another 10-year re-reform. Although it has formally obtained the status of a party newspaper at the central level, it has never been able to get rid of the impression of party reports and non-party audiences. Taking the reporter Li Chunqing and Chang Zhiqing as the objects of study and placing their personal activities under the background of the transformation of Ta Kung Pao after 1949, the dual role conflict between Party members and newspapermen revealed As the other side of “real people,” the difficult practice of “Ta Kung Pao” also shows the rich face of the private newspaper during the remodeling period.
