As the first British Nobel Prize laureate in literature, Joseph Ruddard Kipling’s life is closely linked with the British Empire, most of his works permeate the deep sense of empire, so Kipling won “Empire poet”, “Empire drummer” and other titles. However, as time passed by, his explicit empire position left him cold-hearted and his name became unfamiliar. Since the 1990s, with the rise of post-colonialist cultural criticism, the academic community became interested in Kipling again nearly a hundred years after its silence. In various academic journals, Kipling’s name appeared frequently. In 2007, in honor of his 100th anniversary of winning the Nobel Prize, the United Kingdom made a special film “My Son, Jack,” based on her autobiography.
