Morrison’s “Love” is a description of the personal and collective traumatic experiences of the black female group under racism and the patriarchal system in the context of the post-United States civil rights movement in the mid-to-late 2000s. The novel constructs the traumatic events through the conversion of non-linear narrative and multiple narrative perspectives. Combining with traumatic theory and narratology theory, this paper analyzes the traumatic narration in love from three aspects: traumatic narrative strategy, collective trauma and family ethical trauma.
