Susan Cooper, known as the first woman in the history of the United States natural writer. Cooper’s diary book Rural Hours describes the natural landscape of harmony between man and nature, condemning the devastating effects of human civilization on the environment. This article attempts to re-read “Country Life Time” from the perspective of ecocriticism, and discusses how Cooper’s “Country Time” can reproduce Eden-like nature. How to use the power of literature to establish the natural ecological consciousness? What is the consequence of mankind’s crude treatment of nature? How does “rural living” reflect the ecological ethics and ecological responsibility of Susan Cooper? And this important enlightenment of protecting the natural ecology from this text with strong ecological concern.
