一位老人坐在靠近大门口的凳子上。只要有人走近,他便叫喊: “……请别打扰我们的住宅!” 这一家是单幢小屋,有三个房间,一间厨房,两间阁楼。花园里的树木是光秃秃的,青草都被寒霜冻死了,就连用作牧草也不行了。老人当然不是在看守冻草,但是他从不擅离岗位一步,尽管这会儿天色已晚,然而他仍旧静静地坐在那儿,只要有人走近,他便叫喊: “……请别打扰我们的住宅!” 假如有任何敌军的士兵在他家的大门口停下来,他便站起来,摘下他那油腻的绿色便帽,说是他家里有死人。
