本文是杜维明先生近期在大陆的一篇演讲记录整理稿,演讲时的生动语境虽然不能再现于文本之中,但作者对中国文化的焦虑和关怀仍跃然于纸上。作者以极为广阔的东西比观互照的视域对儒家传统价值作了创造性的诠释和发挥,认为从西方启蒙运动发展出来的人文主义,存在着“去自然”和“非宗教化”两大盲点,儒家的人文精神恰好可以提供对话的资源,有助于未来哲学发展的精神转向。在人生观与宇宙观两大领域内,儒家人文精神都仍具有合理的现代性价值。“仁”作为一种根源性的生命体验,正是不断突破局限并达致与天地万物为一体最高境界的价值依据。“义道”同时兼“群”与“己”两个方面,乃是颇有灵活特点的基本道德原则。“礼”包括了现代“法”的一部分内容,对精英阶层特别是和权力支配者的制约力量更大。“智”是必须经过不断学习才能契入的境界,“信”则为社会建构活动不可须臾或缺的基本价值。
This article is a recent draft of Du Wei-ming’s address book in mainland China. Although the vivid context of the speech can not be reproduced in the text, the author’s anxiety and concern for Chinese culture is still on paper. The author creatively interprets and displays the traditional values of Confucianism from the perspective of the vastness of things and of the comparison of things with each other. He believes that the humanism developed from the Western Enlightenment has “non-religious” and “non-religious ”The two blind spots, Confucian humanistic spirit just to provide the resources for dialogue, help the spirit of the future development of philosophy turned. In the two major fields of outlook on life and cosmology, the Confucian humanistic spirit still has a reasonable value of modernity.
