英语中的形容词作定语时,大多为前置定语,但有时候也可用来作后置定语,常见的有以下几种情况:1.以-able,-ible结尾的形容词,常用作后置定语。例如:In our school the only fuel available is coal.我们学校唯一使用的燃料是煤。(这里的available用来作后置定语,修饰名词fuel。)He is a person responsible.他是一个负责任的人。(此处responsible用来作后置定语,修饰名词person。)2.以a-开头的表语形容词往往可用作后置定语。例如:Tom spoke like a man afraid.汤姆说话像很害怕的样子。
In adjectives in English, they are mostly attributive, but sometimes they can also be used as attributives. The most common are the following: 1. Adjectives ending in -able, -ible, often used as post-attributives . For example: In our school the only fuel available is coal. The only fuel we use at school is coal. (Here available is used as an afterthought, modifying the noun fuel.) He is a person responsible. He is a responsible person. (This is responsible for the post-affix, modified noun person.) 2. The adjectives that begin with a- are often used as post-affirmations. For example: Tom spoke like a man afraid. Tom spoke like scared.
