组织蛋白酶 D(Cathepsin D)是一种雌激素诱导的溶酶体蛋白酶。1979年,Westley 和Rochefort 发现雌激素可以促使人类激素依赖性乳癌细胞株分泌一种52-kd 糖蛋白,抗雌激素药可抑制这种物质分泌。某些激素非依赖性乳癌细胞株也能产生这种糖蛋白。后来证实这种52-kd 蛋白就是组织蛋白酶 D 的前体。
Cathepsin D is an estrogen-induced lysosomal protease. In 1979, Westley and Rochefort discovered that estrogen can induce a hormone-dependent breast cancer cell line to secrete a 52-kd glycoprotein that can be inhibited by anti-estrogen drugs. Certain hormone-independent breast cancer cell lines also produce this glycoprotein. It was later confirmed that this 52-kd protein is a precursor of cathepsin D.
