根据马来西亚橡胶研究院近几年的研究认为,胶树死皮是由于强度排胶引起的乳管坏死所致,他们并认为,割胶部位已坏死的乳管会向其下方和两边的树皮乳管蔓延,严重的可使整株树皮乳管坏死。在这一理论指导下,胶树死皮防治方法已有所突破,且取得了一些相当成功的例子。其基本方法就是把已坏死的乳管与未受影响的乳管开隔离沟隔开,采取这种措施的胶树不需要停割,可以继续割胶。这样就改变了传统上采用的停割,加强施肥养树的防治办法(事实上这种办法对死皮树是无效的)。我们垦区产胶园死皮树逐年增多,已成为当前急需解决的重要技术问题。请大家参照本文献综述中介绍的开隔离沟的方法,在死皮树上作一些引证试验,取得经验后再扩大应用。
