苦参为豆科植物苦参(Sophora flave-scens Ait.)的根。我市发现有将其同科植物刺果甘草(Glycyrrhiza pallidiflora Maxim.)的根作苦参收购供药用,且已有较长历史。二者外形很相似,但苦参较刺草甘草味更苦,而无其特有的甘草味。为了确保药品质量,现将两者的理化鉴别介绍于下。一、分别取苦参与刺果甘草横切片,各滴加氢氧化钠试液数滴,苦参栓皮部呈橙红色,渐变为血红色,而刺果甘草仅呈浅红色。二、分别取苦参与刺果甘草粗粉1g,加含0.5%盐酸的乙醇20ml,加热回流1小时,
