Objective To investigate the relationship between periodontitis and some local and systemic factors through the statistical analysis of physical examination data of Beijing cadres. Methods From September 2008 to September 2009, randomized cluster sampling was conducted in Beijing cadres who participated in the physical examination in our hospital. A total of 4485 women (2997 males and 1488 females) were enrolled in the study. All subjects received fasting venous blood tests Total cholesterol, triglycerides, high-density lipoprotein, low-density lipoprotein, blood sugar. Physical examination, periodontal examination, questionnaire and periodontal status of all the participants were evaluated by using the CPI index and the first composite score. Multiple Linear Regression was used for the data and the age was stratified for analysis. Results The total population analysis of risk factors associated with periodontitis are age, gender, education, blood glucose, smoking, brushing time. The risk factors associated with periodontitis in the elderly group were gender and education level. Risk factors associated with periodontitis in young and middle-aged groups were gender, education, age, smoking, blood glucose. The body mass index, serum total cholesterol, triglycerides, high density lipoprotein, low density lipoprotein and periodontitis no significant correlation. Conclusion Periodontitis is a multifactorial disease. In oral preventive health care, the above risk factors can be controlled through oral health habits and lifestyle interventions to reduce the prevalence of periodontitis.
