阳泉地处石太线中点,向来是出入晋之要冲,历来为兵家所关注;抗日战争爆发后,自然也成为日本侵略军西进太原、控制山西的主攻目标。1937年10月,日军突破中国守军的防卫而侵入阳泉境内后,奸淫烧杀,无恶不作,制造了一起又一起骇人听闻的惨案。据不完全统计,抗战8年中,平定县有1391 Yangquan is located at the midpoint of the Shi Tai line and has always been the most important part of the Jin Dynasty.
