最近10年,外国资本大量流入美国。据不完全统计,1973年外国在美国的投资(直接投资、不包括证券等)仅为210亿美元左右,到1983年猛增到1,113亿美元,10年内翻了两番还多。其中以英国资本最多,从1973年的54亿美元增加到1983年的233亿,同期内日本从3亿美元增加到87亿,10年中竟增加了28倍有余。外资最感兴趣的是制造业。1983年投资了360亿美元;金融保险及房地产业其次,约330亿美元;能源约为232亿美元;商业约为191亿美元。各国投资侧重点不一样,西欧着重重工业、能源及消费品生产工业;日本着重汽车制造业、钢铁、食品和电子等工业。
In the recent 10 years, a large number of foreign capital flowed into the United States. According to incomplete statistics, in 1973 foreign investment in the United States (direct investment, excluding securities, etc.) was only about 21 billion U.S. dollars, surging to 111.3 billion U.S. dollars in 1983 and more than quadrupled in 10 years. Among them, the largest amount of capital in Britain increased from 5.4 billion U.S. dollars in 1973 to 23.3 billion in 1983, while Japan increased from 300 million U.S. dollars to 8.7 billion in the same period, an increase of more than 28 times in 10 years. Foreign investment is most interested in manufacturing. In 1983, it invested 36 billion U.S. dollars, followed by finance and insurance and real estate industries, 33 billion U.S. dollars, and its energy source was about 23.2 billion U.S. dollars. Its commercial revenue was about 19.1 billion U.S. dollars. The focus of investment is not the same in all countries. Western Europe emphasizes heavy industry, energy and consumer goods manufacturing industries. Japan focuses on the automobile manufacturing, steel, food and electronics industries.
