Fluorescent lamps are a modern light source that fully meets the requirements. It is more efficient than incandescent lamps, with high light output and long life. Light output is to determine the economy of the basic parameters of light, which is luminous flux and lamp power ratio. However, during use, the luminous flux of fluorescent lamps is reduced due to changes in phosphor properties, dirty luminaires, reduced indoor surface reflectance, and lamp aging. In the course of the application in order to ensure that the provisions of the illumination to achieve the value of lighting design must be included in the reserve factor. According to (?) Ⅱ-4-79 design criteria, the fluorescent lamp has a reserve factor of 1.5. However, it does not consider the case where the supply voltage is decreased to lower the luminous flux of the light source. Tests and data confirm that when the voltage is reduced by 10%, the luminous flux of the fluorescent lamp is also reduced by 10%.
