《桃花扇》历来为人所称道,尤其是不落俗套的结局,使其成为中国古代戏曲中不同凡响的悲剧故事。但是“侯李入道”这样的结局安排也是颇受争议的学术论题,赞同者有之,质疑者有之。本文认为“侯李入道”不符合人物性格的行为逻辑,这样的情节设置是作者主观意志为之,背后彰显的是作者的创作意识,具体表现在对剧本的“历史戏”定位、作者自身的隐逸情怀以及生命悲剧意识上。
