To understand the prevalence of hepatitis G virus (HGV) in Shaoguan, serum anti-HGVIgG was detected in all kinds of liver diseases in Shaoguan. Now the analysis of the results reported below. A total of 385 cases were liver disease patients who lived in our department of infectious diseases from March 1997 to March 1998. There were 308 males and 77 females, aged 7 months to 79 years old (average 38.57 years).
