无论我们愿不愿意,意义的追问总是存在的,此乃人性使然。作为一个人,他所具有的意义可以很丰富,也可以很单调,可以很特殊,也可以很平常。如果从某种身份来判断一个人的意义,那就相对具体得多,有时甚至是很特定的。作为一个美术家,他应该体现出什么意义?以往人们曾经给出过很多答案,今天似乎有条件给出更多的令人眼花缭乱乃至不可思议的答案。但是,只要美术史还会继续书写下去,一个美术家的意义至少不能少了一条,那就是他能为美术史提供怎样的书写素材,由此体现出他在美术史上的研究意义。既然文化是人类的光荣和宿命式的存在方式,那么一个美术家的美术史意义便总是不能缺少的,否则他就不能成其为美术家。今天,在这方面有抱负的美术家会有怎样的追求和表现?每一个个体对此都可以有自己的理解。让我们像黄宾虹老人所说的那样,50年后拭目以待。姜宝林山东平度人,1942年生于蓬莱。1967年毕业于浙江美术学院中国画系,由潘天寿、顾坤伯、陆俨少、陆维钊亲授1981年毕业于中央美术学院山水研究班,是李可染的研究生。现为中国艺术研究院博士生导师,中国国家画院院委、研究员,中国画学会创会常务理事,李可染画院副院长,李可染艺术基金会艺委会委员,中央文史馆书画院艺委会委员,浙江画院艺委会终生委员,杭州画院名誉院长,一级美术师,享受国务院特殊津贴。历任中央美术学院客座教授,清华大学美术学院博士生教学指导教授,浙江画院院委,杭州画院院长。2004年至2009年出任中国国家画院姜宝林艺术工作室导师。第十届、第十一届全国关展中国画评委。专擅山水、擅花卉大写,原创白描现代山水,酷爱画瓷。荣获“1992蒙特卡洛现代绘画世界大奖赛”大公政府奖,获1999年美国佛尔蒙特国际艺术创作中心富瑞曼基金会艺术创作一等奖,获第九届全国美展银奖。
