This article reviews the development of liquid polymers such as hydroxyl-terminated polybutadienes, polyetherdiols and polyether triols, and carboxyl-containing polymers as insulation. The paper describes the effect of formulation on ablation performance, which is measured in a special test engine, and compares it with full-size engine performance. This report compares the type and amount of refractory filler and the effect of volatile coolant on ablation performance. The results of the test on the effects of the formulation on gas smoke were also reported. The main advantages of these materials are low prices, especially low application costs. Another advantage is the direct bonding without the need for a transitional bond coating.
