【Abstract】English newspaper is a teaching material that can be constantly renewed. It can help improve students’ reading abilities and enhance students’ overall performance in English. In order to bring its’ functions into full play， the author cones up with teaching procedures for teachers to follow to make the class design scientific and benefit the students to the utmost.

English newspaper teaching are becoming more and more popular in many colleges and universities， for newspaper teaching have various advantages such as encouraging different ways of thinking and activating students’ interest in English. Therefore， how to carry out the English newspaper class is very important.
1. Procedures of the English newspaper class
Different teachers have different procedures when they have the newspaper class.
