埃塞俄比亚唯一的轮胎企业——斯亚贝巴轮胎股份公司投资11亿比尔(约合5000万欧元)进行升级改造。该公司正在发展子午线轮胎,并得到来自大陆公司的技术支持。斯亚贝巴公司购买的轿车和轻型卡车子午线轮胎生产线计划于2012年9月投产,年产量为20万条。斯亚贝巴公司目前斜交轮胎年产量为25万条,只占其产能的50%,占埃塞俄比亚轮胎需求量的20%左右,埃塞俄比亚其余的轮胎需求量依靠进口轮胎满足。埃塞俄比亚重型卡车轮胎进口量占需求量的75%～85%,轻型卡车轮胎进口量占需求量的55%。
Ethiopia’s only tire company, Addis Ababa Tire AG, invested 1.1 billion bucks (about 50 million euros) to upgrade. The company is developing radial tires, and get the technical support from the mainland company. The production line for passenger car and light truck radial tires purchased by the Atababa Company is scheduled to start operation in September 2012 with an annual output of 200,000. At present, the annual output of bias tires is 250,000, accounting for only 50% of its production capacity, accounting for about 20% of Ethiopia’s tire demand. The rest of Ethiopia’s tire demand is met by imported tires. Ethiopia’s heavy truck tires account for 75% to 85% of the demand and light truck tires account for 55% of the demand.
